The Make-up Shelf

I finally got around to organizing my make up shelf! Some of you might ask: wouldn't it be easier to have make up on the vanity? But I've got a whole lot of other stuff there (skincare products/hair products/perfumes/...). A shelf in my closet is the perfect place - especially because of all the mirrors.

Here's what I did:
I threw away all my old make up. Then I bought some organizing containers from Daiso, plus I reused some of the stuff I already had. I organized my make up from left to right by process of application. So the order goes like this: skin care products, concealers, tinted moisturizers/foundations and other bottles, brushes, eye shadow and powder/cream compacts. lip/eye-liners & mascaras, lipsticks.

I still need to get a container from to separate my lipliners from my eyeliners. Also, there are a few odd products with no containers or that don't really belong in a specific group, but I'll figure that out later...

ORGANIZED DRAWERS

I did not take before pics but these drawers were a complete mess!!!!  I used to have to rummage through a thousand different items to find what I was looking for. And it would be all wrinkled up which isn't pretty! I had those drawer dividers (from Ikea) but there was no clear system. Here's what I did:

1- Take all items out.
2- Divide them into categories, while doing so create a pile for anything torn or you won't ever use e.g. red leggings (long story!)
3- Fold items neatly and place them in a designated divider.
4- Arrange dividers inside drawers and label.

Drawer 1 - Tanktops and Swimwear

Tanktops folded neatly into squares. Here's how

I just rolled the swimwear. The shorts were folded in half and placed
next to them (see first pic).

Drawer 2 - Slips (aka Shla7), leggings, and stockings.

I rolled the stocking & leggings to create semi-circular rolls.

I applied this system to underwear as well and it works perfectly. You can see everything and find what you're looking for real fast. Plus, there's room for an extra divider which means there's room for more items - yay for me!

Will keep you posted on my home improvement ventures!

Closet Organization

I've been trying to implement this system for a while now, but every time they hang in fresh laundry everything is back to the old mess. So I came up with this idea to hang up a guide inside my closet doors. I'm not completely spoiled; I am going to re-organize everything myself first THEN I'm going to ask the maids to hand stuff in order. The guides are there so neither I nor them will forget to implement this system.

It really does change your closet, and makes it easier to browse different clothing and find what you want faster.

The first picture is the tops rack. You arrange clothing my sleeve type and then by color within the different sleeve categories

The second picture is the pants and skirts rack, and where I also keep lightweight sweaters, cardigans, and jackets. They follow the same system as the tops rack; categorize items by shape and then by color.

P.S sorry for the low quality pics! I was kind of in an oranizational rush!
