RECIPE: Pakora Dipping Sauce

I've always loved Pakora! Especially during Ramadan.

But I always felt it was missing a sauce or something. So I did my research and found that in Pakistani cuisine, a sauce does exist for pakora. So, I mixed and matched ingredients from different online recipes and here's what I came up with...

Ingredients
1 medium-sized yogurt package (175 grams)
1 table spoon ketchup
1.5 table spoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tea spoons chili powder
1 tea spoon cumin powder
chopped mint (about 10 leaves)
 2 tea spoons lemon juice
salt & pepper to taste

Directions
Mix all ingredients in a bowel and serve chilled.

The result was perfect. I'd definitely make this dipping sauce again!

The Make-up Shelf

I finally got around to organizing my make up shelf! Some of you might ask: wouldn't it be easier to have make up on the vanity? But I've got a whole lot of other stuff there (skincare products/hair products/perfumes/...). A shelf in my closet is the perfect place - especially because of all the mirrors.

Here's what I did:
I threw away all my old make up. Then I bought some organizing containers from Daiso, plus I reused some of the stuff I already had. I organized my make up from left to right by process of application. So the order goes like this: skin care products, concealers, tinted moisturizers/foundations and other bottles, brushes, eye shadow and powder/cream compacts. lip/eye-liners & mascaras, lipsticks.

I still need to get a container from to separate my lipliners from my eyeliners. Also, there are a few odd products with no containers or that don't really belong in a specific group, but I'll figure that out later...

Socks for Hair

I came by two very interesting videos on YouTube by a user called Loepsie. She uses a sock to create the perfect big bun, and to curl her hair. Crazy I know! See for yourself.

I love buns and I have tried a few techniques to make one, but its never 100% perfect which is fine sometimes. I tried the technique she uses with the sock, and its even messier. Maybe its because my hair is slightly layered. Still, I'm going to practice until I get the perfect bun! She doesn't use pins, but I think my hair needs a few pins to secure that big bun.

As for curling the hair with a sock. I'm definitely going to be doing this A LOT. I love soft wavy hair! With a curling iron my hair gets split ends every time even if I use heat protectant spray and similar products. This will be perfect for me!

HOW TO: Color Blocking

Runways and red carpets in the past few months have offered many interpretations of the color blocking trend.

Gucci

I kind of like it and then I kind of don't. So, I figured out the best way I think color blocking should be done.

1- Color blocking the same color in different shades and tones is pretty.

Emma Stone in Lanvin

2- Another pretty but safe way is to color block bright colors with neutrals.

3- Color block colors of the same tone. Muted colors with muted colors, dark shades with dark shades, and so on...

Olivia Wilde in Gucci

Not following the last rule has been done a few times but it doesn''t look pretty! See for yourself...

Michelle Obama

That's was my take on the trend. Thoughts?
